Website Officer
Ying Luo is an early career entomologist, with a background in insect taxonomy and systematics. Her entomological exploits have taken her far and wide, from working as a research assistant in Hong Kong to working in Darwin. She described her first insect species (an ant) at the age of 21 and since then has been looking for opportunities to describe even more. This desire led her to her MPhil project based at the Australian National Insect Collection on a group of leaf-mining lepidopterans, the Phyllocnistinae (Family: Gracillariidae). Due to the lack of previous work in this area, she is keen to understand more about all leaf-mining Lepidoptera. Ying is passionate about the diversity of insects and diversity in science.
